Funding Options for Small Business

The Navajo Nation Economic Development Division oversees grants, loans, and other financial assistance options for Navajo-owned small business, home-based business, or self-employed individuals. 

Micro-Enterprise Loan Program

Micro-Enterprise Lending Program (MELP) was set up to provide financing for micro-businesses. Collateralized loans can be made in amounts varying from $2,500 to $7,500 for new businesses (see loan documents for more detailed information on additional requirements).

2024 Navajo Nation Artisan & Small Business Grants

Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the 2024 Navajo Nation Artisan and Small Business Grants are available for established businesses and artisans who did not receive funding during the previous rounds of grants. Businesses and artisans must demonstrate that they were active and in existence before March of 2020 and satisfy all other requirements to be considered.Â
